The Brownwood Freshman Maroon Lions rolled to a 34-6 victory over Abilene Wylie Thursday at Gordon Wood Stadium.
The Lions raced out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a 42-yard run by Ike Hall and a 5-yard carry by Jaylon Brown. Hudson Reagan added PATs after both touchdowns.
Brownwood increased the lead to 20-0 at halftime following a 9-yard Hall touchdown run in the second period.
After Wylie cut the deficit to 20-6 in the third period, the Lions added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Brown and a 2-yard carry by Sam Kallman. Reagan added PATs after both scores.
Defensive standouts for the Lions included Reagan (5 tackles, 1 PBU), Hayden Deen (3 tackles, 1 TFL), Colton McMillian (3 tackles) and Jake Jetton (1 tackle, 1 TFL, INT).
Also Thursday, the JV Lions fell at Wylie, 26-0, while the Freshman/Sophomore combined team suffered a 40-8 loss.
