WOLFFORTH – For the second year in a row the Early Longhorns football season reached its conclusion at the hands of the No. 2 Canadian Wildcats, who cruised to a 77-22 victory here Friday night in Class 3A Division II Region I area playoff action.
Tied at 7 in the first quarter, Canadian (12-0) reeled off 35 unanswered points before Early (6-6) scored again.
Early amassed 332 yards of total offense – 245 passing and 87 rushing – with two turnovers.
Quarterback Rohyn Price completed 11 of 22 passes for 245 yards with a pair of scoring strikes and two interceptions, while rushing for 11 yards and another score. Andrew Reedy hauled in five receptions for 149 yards and scored once, while Weston Barton added four catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. Reece Middleton caught a 20-yard pass and Kaleb Ozuna added an 8-yard reception.
Ozuna also led Early with 46 yards on the ground while Griffin Cheslock contributed 30 yards rushing.
Canadian compiled 647 yards of total offense – 390 through the air and 257 on the ground – with no turnovers.
Quarterback Camren Cavalier completed 17 of 23 passes for 388 yards and six scoring tosses, while rushing for 109 yards and two more scores. Leading receivers were Preston Neumeier (5-102, TD), Luke Flowers (5- 101, 2 TDs), Camden Cook (4-57, TD), and Junior Cervantes (2-110, 2 TDs). Also contributing on the ground were Flowers (67 yards, 2 TDs) and Clay Kendall (48 yards, TD).
