As of 2 p.m. Sunday, multiple fire departments were still battling a large grass off U.S. Highway 67/84 west of Bangs near the FM 585 cutoff. The fire was headed northeast toward the Coleman County line. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
As of 12:40 pm Sunday, Brownwood Regional Airport showed Southeast wind at 17, gusting to 25 mph. Humidity was 19%. A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 9:00 pm tonight (Sunday) for dangerous fire weather conditions.
In addition, various fire departments were also responding between Cross Plains and Rising Star area for another wildfire. Further information will be provided when available.
