The Alexis Mosqueda coaching era got off to an ideal start Friday night, as the Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team kicked off the 2021 season with a 7-0 trouncing of the Snyder Lady Tigers at Gordon Wood Stadium.
“The girls did an awesome job,” said Mosqueda, a 2014 Brownwood High graduate making her head coaching debut. “Their passes finally connected, the through balls were there and they capitalized on most of their shots. I’m extremely proud of the way they played tonight.”
Kennedi Johnson tallied the only goal the Lady Lions would need 5:59 into the contest. Molly Oliver went on to chip in three goals while Ataleigh Constancio, Watts Jones, and Marisa Campos also scored for Brownwood.
The Lady Lions (1-0) are slated to return to action at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15 as they host Sweetwater.
