COLEMAN – The Early Lady Horns placed fifth as a team while the Longhorns were sixth at the Coleman cross country meet Monday.
The Lady Horns finished with 98 points which left them behind champion Brady (40), runner-up Coleman (53), Merkel (91), and Clyde (97). Sweetwater (137) finished behind Early.
Competing for the Lady Horns were Madison Torrez (third, 14:18.1), Trinity Torrez (11th, 15:07.03), Preslee Richmond (14th, 15:14.5), Lillie Brandstetter (37th, 16:32.7), Jenna Wigham (41st, 17:06.4), Memorie Castro (48th, 17:52.5), and Yasmin Ibarra (53rd, 18:46.1).
Running for Coleman were Payton Garrett (fifth, 14:24.8), Emily Taylor (eighth, 14:29.0), Katy Elder (10th, 15:05.5), Jackie Horne (13th, 15:10.7), Felicity Hale (21st, 15:38.4), Analis Flores (26th, 15:55.1), Leanna Russell (28th, 15:56.9), Addi Webb (46th, 17:33.5), and Avery Wardlow (47th, 17:48.5).
The Longhorns logged 136 points which left them behind champion Eula (48), Brady (60), Coleman (70), Sweetwater (88) and Clyde (95).
Ealy was led by J.D. Nowell (17th, 20:59.5), Aaron Bass (30th, 22:36.6), Calvin Chubb (37th, 24:27.7), Mathew Chambers (38th, 24:27.4), Will Prochaska (40th, 25:06.8), Grant Leigh (47th, 26:39.8), Ethan Pallette (48th, 28:11.0), and Keegan Waldorf (50th, 29:21.0).
Competing for Coleman were Jacob Ramirez (fifth, 19:00.7), Paul Rosales (12th, 20:27.7), Juan Gutierrez (13rd, 20:29.6), Joan Gutierrez (14th, 20:33.5), Christian Mares (36th, 23:56.7), Daniel Vasquez (45th, 26:26.9), and Gage Gordon (46th, 26:36.8).
