The Early Longhorns opened the TexasBank Holiday Classic with a convincing 61-45 victory over the Brady Bulldogs Wednesday at Brownwood High School’s Warren Gym, improving to 9-6 on the season.
The Longhorns held a slim 12-11 advantage after one quarter, which grew to 31-21 by halftime. Heading into the fourth period, Early was comfortably in front of Brady, 51-26, thanks to a 20-5 scoring edge in the third
Kamden Gamblin paced Early with 14 points thanks to four three-pointers while Kaleb Huffman also finished in double figures with 11. John Hill, John-Stewart Gordon and Rohyn Price tacked on eight points apiece, Colten Allen finished with six and Jeremy Brown tallied five.
For Brady, J.D Ibarra led the charge with 13 points followed by Bradyn Garza with eight.
Early will conclude pool play at 8 a.m. Thursday at Brownwood Middle School against Abilene Wylie, which knocked off Brady by a 94-31 count Wednesday.
