Brownwood News – Lieutenant Colonel retired Allen West continues his visit to Central Texas Thursday with a stop in Coleman. West will speak at the Coleman Senior Citizens Center between 11 am and 1 pm.
Wednesday night, LTC West spoke to a crowd of about 100 patriots at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Brownwood, billed as a “Night of Liberty and Freedom.”
Brownwood News – Tell us what your message was tonight for the folks in Brownwood.
LTC West – “I think the most important message for the folks in Brownwood is to understand the criticality of the moment for the State of Texas which means that if Texas is lost to the left, which we have seen happen in Virginia, the United States of America is in trouble. There is something unique, something very special about Texas. Our rural communities have to stand up and make sure their voices are heard so that we don’t have these major urban population centers, these counties, that are dictating the political atmosphere of Texas.”

Brownwood News – Tell us about you running to be the Chairman of the Republican Party in the State of Texas.
LTC West – “You know a lot of people said why didn’t you run for Congress or Senate or something like that. The fight for America is in Texas. It’s not on Capital Hill. If we lose this ideological battle here, like I said, it is lost for the United States of America. You look and see what is happening in Texas, this strategic plan that they have. We have to have a strategic mindset to be able to combat this. I think we must take our message of growth opportunity, prosperity, restoring faith, family, individual responsibility, quality education, small business entrepreneurship and service to the nation where it is needed most and that’s in our inner-city communities, like where I grew up in as a kid in Atlanta.”
Lieutenant Colonel West was welcomed to town by the Brown County Republican Women’s Club. West served 22 years in the U.S. Army, receiving a Bronze Star. He also represented Florida in the US Congress, however, he now resides in Texas.
After his presentation, West greeted those in attendance and autographed his books that were available for purchase.
