Dustin L. Larremore
Dustin Larremore
Hello, Brown County residents. Many of you already know me, but for the ones that don’t, my name is Dustin Larremore. I am humbled and honored to run for Brown County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1.
I have lived in Brown County for most of my life. I graduated from Brownwood High School in 2006 (Go Lions!) After graduation, I attended Howard Payne University, before taking my career path into retail management for Stage Store, Inc. I spent 7 years working with stores around the United States, including the Brownwood Beall’s location. In 2014, I decided to move back to Brownwood to help my grandmother and family, where I entered a lifelong dream of helping my community with the many problems that they face in the world of insurance.
I have held my insurance license for 9 years and own a local insurance office in downtown Brownwood. As these last 9 years have passed, I have dedicated myself to volunteering, engaging, and helping our community. Some of the non-profits that I have volunteered for or been a part of include The Boys and Girls Club of Brown County, Kiwanis Club of Brownwood, Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce (Past President), FCA Brown County, Parks and Recreations Board for the City of Brownwood, and the Downtown Brownwood Manor Board of Directors. I have also been honored to be selected for the Brownwood News 40 under 40, Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Year, and Kiwanis Club of Brownwood Newcomer of the Year.
Throughout my business experience over the last 16 years, I have managed an over 4-million-dollar budget, been a supervisor of approximately 350 team members, and worked with conflict resolution, project management, communication, problem-solving, insurance law/policy, and planning. All of this has taught me that you must make sure you are looking at every detail, make an educated decision and not jump to a verdict. With the training and skills that I have received, I believe that I would be a fantastic candidate for Brown County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1.
As I continue to invest and support my local community, I remember the phrase “Brownwood Feels Like Home.” Brown County is my home and I want to see its continued growth and success for many generations and families to come. As a good friend once said, “If you’re helping the community, the community will help you. You have to be willing to open your heart to give, otherwise, you can never receive.”
Thank you all for considering me for the position of the Brown County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1. I look forward to continuing to serve our great community.

BrownwoodNews.com sent five questions via email to all of the candidates running for office in Brown County during the March 2024 Republican Primary. The following are the answers submitted by Dustin Larremore:
How long have you been a part of the Brown County community? – To what extent have you been a part of the local government?
Dustin Larremore has lived in Brown County for nearly all of his life. He was born in Brownwood and later graduated from Brownwood High School in 2006. After graduation, Larremore attended Howard Payne University. He hadn’t run for any public offices prior to the 2024 Brown County Election but he does have experience within local government. Larremore was the 2021-2022 Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce President where he served on the board of directors for seven years. He is presently on the board of directors for the Brownwood Manor, having also served on the Brownwood Parks and Recreation board. Larremore has additional experience working with the Brownwood Industrial Foundation, the Brown County Boys and Girls Club, being a member for the Kiwanis Board and other youth sporting events.
What is your vision for the future of Brown County? – What changes would you advocate for and why?
Larremore believes that everyone ought to be looking ahead to what may need change in the future; however, he is confident that upon election for the Justice of the Peace he will understand the function of the office before implementing any changes. Larremore says that the office he is campaigning for already has a great staff and a wonderful previous leader. “I know I can learn a lot from the staff at the Justice Office,” said Larremore.
Regarding your prospective position, what do you consider your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
Larremore believes that some of his strengths include leadership in business, problem-solving, conflict resolution, communication, budget planning and policy compliance. “I believe with my business skills, being involved with local government, non-profits, running budgets, and being in leadership positions that I have a good understanding of how to handle each situation that will be presented,” said Larremore.
What do you consider the biggest challenge of the position you are running for? – What areas need improvement and why?
Larremore contends that he wouldn’t change anything since he is currently unaware of what changes may be needed for the office of the Justice of the Peace. Once elected, he will use his problem-solving and project management skills to evaluate the office, laws, and documents to determine if any changes are warranted.
What has been your greatest accomplishment in your career? – In your personal life?
One of Larremore’s greatest accomplishments has been the successful business through which he has been able to help many families in the area. He was recognized as one of the “40 Under 40” of Brownwood in 2018. A few other accomplishments include being named Ambassador of the Year for the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce in 2017, the million-dollar award winner for the Texas Farm Bureau, the top three District Managers for Stage Store Inc. (Beall’s), the top compliance winner for Stage Stores Inc. (Beall’s), the Kiwanis new member of the year, and many others. Above all, “I have been blessed in my life with a strong network of support from my family and close friends,” said Larremore.
