BadgeLogoBrown County Sheriff’s deputies and first responders were dispatched to a property on Oak Point Drive, near Lake Brownwood on Saturday, July 5th for an all terrain vehicle (ATV) accident with injuries.

At approximately 7:44 p.m., BCSO deputies responded to the location in the Oak Point addition regarding the accident with injuries.  There were six people (all in their 20s) involved in the accident with three injuries.

According to the report, the officers arrived with North Lake Volunteer Fire Department already on scene treating the subjects involved in the crash.    EMS advised that one of the occupants of an ATV would need to be airlifted for treatment, the report states.  The two other injured riders were reported to have non life-threatening injuries.

One victim, 25-year-old Kyle Ray Thaxton, was loaded into a medical helicopter and flown to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment of his injuries according to the deputy’s report.  Thaxton was reported to be listed in fair condition as of Monday morning.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper John Moody spoke to a female, later identified as 26-year-old Parveen Kaur Gill of San Antonio, who was the driver of the ATV.  Gill was uninjured in the crash; however, after failing the standardized field sobriety tests, and the injuries to Thaxton being significant enough to leave permanent scarring and/ or disfigurement, Gill was arrested and charged with intoxication assault with serious bodily injury and driving while intoxicated – 1st.  According to the report, Gill agreed to provide a sample of her breath, and the results of the breathalyzer were .109 BAC, and .103 BAC, respectively.  Gill was later released on bonds totaling $11,500 according to Brown County Jail records.
