Brownwood News – A Brownwood man turned himself in on a warrant Tuesday, May 5, at the Brown County Jail.
According to the Brownwood Police Department, in April of 2020, the Brownwood Police Department received a Child Protective Services report of an outcry of sexual abuse from a female juvenile. The report indicated that the female was sexually touched by a family member at various times in her life during a seven-year period.
An investigation was commenced by the Criminal Investigations Division where evidence was gathered and interviews were conducted. At the conclusion of the investigation, a warrant was sought against 62-year-old Royce Harold Christopher of Brownwood. Christopher was charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child; Victim under 14 – Forcible Fondling.
On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, Christopher arrived at the Brown County Jail and turned himself in on the warrant. According to jail records, Christopher was also released on May 5 on a bond of $100,000.
