Brownwood News – The Brown County Sheriff’s Department has responded to the following cases in recent days. The Brownwood Police Blotter is after the S.O. report.
On March 19, at approximately, 16:09 hours, Cpl. Hopson responded to CR 318 for a theft report. The incident is still being investigated.
On March 19, at approximately 17:35, Deputy Jose Rodriguez was dispatched to County Road 225 in regard to an illegal dumping. A report was made.
On March 16, Deputy Taylor Fletcher responded to a report of a reckless driver in a silver Hummer at Highway 183 and FM 583. The Hummer was found disabled in the ditch at this intersection. The female driver was arrested for Felony Driving While Intoxicated and Class A Misdemeanor Resisting Arrest, Search or Transport for attempting to kick out the window of the patrol car.
On Tuesday, March 17, at about 15:21 hours, Deputy Byron Langley arrived at County Road 334 in Blanket in regards to a burglary. He was advised by dispatch that a woman called stating a white male in a white vehicle was at her residence taking her property. Upon arrival, Deputy Langley spoke to a man who stated he owned the property and was cleaning up the property. The man stated the woman had taken several items from the residence which were not hers.
On Tuesday, March 17, at approximately 14:34, Deputy Scotty Burke was dispatched to property off of Oak Hill Drive / Forrest Hill Drive, Brownwood. This was in reference to an animal cruelty report and investigation.
On March 17, Deputy Taylor Fletcher responded to a report of a pit bull attacking a small Pekingese on Hidden Valley Drive in Brownwood. The owner of the pit bull was issued a citation for Un-vaccinated Dog and a report was made.
On March 17, at around 21:08 hours, Deputy Ashley Harris made contact with a man by phone. He reported someone had stolen a gas can from his house at FM 1467 E, Brownwood. A report was made.
On Thursday, March 12, at about 18:22 hours, Deputy Simspon responded to a man evading from Investigator Gover and Investigator Slayton. After the man was in custody, Deputy Simpson located narcotics in the man’s backpack. This happened at Avenue E and 7th Street.
On Wednesday, March 18, at about 03:52 hours, Deputy Simpson took a phone call in regards to a woman advising someone had used her credit card for $13.99 without her permission. A report was made. Location County Road 321, Blanket
On March 18, at approximately 14:26 hours, Deputy M. Davis was dispatched to take a walk-in report at the BCSO headquarters. This was regarding a reported Fraud/Theft on County Road 130.
On March 18, Deputy Jose Rodriguez responded to an assault which occurred at Morris Sheppard Drive in Brownwood. A report was made.

BROWNWOOD POLICE BLOTTER
On Monday, March 16, Brownwood Police Officers were dispatched to a north Brownwood address on the 2300 block of Main Blvd. for a criminal mischief call. Information was gathered and a report for Duty on Striking Fixture was generated.
On March 16, at approximately 17:17 hours, Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Austin Avenue for a call of Criminal Mischief. A report was made.
On March 17, at approximately 18:47 hours, Officers with Brownwood PD were dispatched to a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle that occurred around the 4200 block of South U.S. 377. A report was generated in reference to this call.
