Funeral services for Vondal Bracksieck, age 86, of Early, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 8, 2020 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Allen and Vance Bowman officiating.
Interment with military honors, will take place at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 10, 2020 in the Davenport Cemetery in Davenport Oklahoma.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 at Heartland Funeral Home.
Vondal went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
Vondal Duwayne Bracksieck was born June 22, 1933 in Jones, Oklahoma to Ault Edward Bracksieck and Hesta Gertrude (Campbell) Bracksieck. He enlisted along with a group of classmates in the Army in 1953 and served until April 15, 1955 as a heavy weapons specialist. He married Maxine Langston on Sept. 23, 1953 and they had three children. After his service, they lived in several places in Oklahoma and lived over 20 years in Lodi, California. Vondal worked for McDonnell- Douglas on the Apollo 11 and Saturn rocket repulsion system. They returned to Oklahoma and settled in Shawnee. Maxine passed away on March 2, 2002 after a long battle with cancer. He met and married Billie (Bailey) Jamison in March, 2004 and they were married for 12 years before her passing in May of 2016.
Vondal had a passion for fishing and hunting and shared this with his family. He was devoted to his church and attended Coggin Baptist Church in Brownwood for the early service with Billie and then made the next service at the Brownwood Evangelism Center while she taught her 3 year old Sunday School class. He was a good provider and his family his God were his priority.
Vondal is survived by three children. Daughter Vickie Tubbs of Birmingham, Alabama, and two sons, Greg Bracksieck of Stockton, California and Charles Bracksieck, Tulsa, Oklahoma and 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, step-children, and step-grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vondal was preceded in death by his parents, his first and second wives, Maxine and Billie, sisters, Nadine and Norma Jean and brother, Charles Bracksieck.
