The Howard Payne Yellow Jackets improved to 2-0 on the 2019 football season (1-0 conference)with a 56-37 victory against the McMurry Warhawks in Abilene. McMurry is now 0-2 (0-1).

HPU quarterback, Caleb Estes, had another big day completing 26 of 31 passed for 388 yards and five touchdowns. His favorite targets were DunTayviun Gross with 7 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns followed by Thomas Williams with 5 catches for 111 yards and one touchdown.

The HPU ground attack was led by Billy Reagins with 12 carries for 114 yards and one touchdown.
