Jean L. Hall Schwartz went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her home.
Services will be 2 PM on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.
Jean was born on Sunday, April 10, 1938 in Brownwood, TX to Snyder and Emma Slaughter. She married Charles W. Hall, Sr. in 1952 in Brownwood where their marriage was blessed with two sons Charles W. Hall, Jr. and Larry Gene Hall; and daughter Cheryl Lynn Buse. After the loss of her husband Charles, Jean married Jimmy Schwartz on December 7, 2002 in Early, TX.
While her children were growing up, she volunteered her time at the school and also worked in the Glove Factory in the 70’s. In 1985 Jean started working for the United States Post Office as a rural mail carrier until she retired in 2002. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Early where she was a member for many years. Jean loved to read and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, she enjoyed dancing where you could find her on Thursday nights at Travelers. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, T.O.P.S., Coggin Baptist Dance Group, Bunco, a 42 group she started with her fellow friends and Brownwood Senior Citizens Center where she attended faithfully Monday through Friday. Jean also loved to travel the country side from Alaska, Hawaii, New York, Washington State, Florida, Washington D.C., California and even Las Vegas where she enjoyed gambling. Most of all Jean loved life seeking new adventures. She loved her family that she cherished every day while living life to the fullest.
Jean leaves behind her husband Jimmy Schwartz, the legacy of her children, Charles W. Hall, Jr. and wife Lainey of Blanket, Cheryl Lynn Buse and husband Jimmy of Early and Larry Gene Hall of Early; a brother Mark Slaughter and wife Virginia of Ft. Worth; grandchildren Michael Reid, Jason Hall, Jeremy Hall, Ashley Patterson, Cody Eoff, Chad Eoff, Laura Hall, Hunter Hall, Madison Hall, Vernon Buse and Kyle Buse. 7 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-great-grandchildren, 3 stepchildren and numerous step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles W. Hall, Sr., Sister Rebecca Mckee, two brothers Butch Slaughter and Mickey Mckee.
Her family wishes to send a special thank you to CMS Home Health, Kindred Hospice, Dr. Amy Tindol and Dr. Lisa Fowler. We couldn’t have made this journey over the last year and a half without your love and compassion.
