Brownwood News – Brown County Commissioners met Monday morning, June 3, 2019 with a limited agenda.  County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, presided over the meeting.

  • There were no citizen comments
  • Minutes of the May 20th meeting were approved
  • Bills were submitted for approval and payment
  • No action was taken on an update from Don King, County Surveyor, on proposed amendments of subdivision rules and regulations to comply with Veteran Land Board Regulations.  The regulations pertain to survey and legal description requirements for Texas Veterans Land Board Tracts.
  • No action was taken on the Burn Ban. Due to plentiful rain, the Burn Ban is not in effect in Brown County.
  • Commissioners approved, 4-0, a request from Wayne Shaw, Precinct 3 Commissioner, to trade a 2015 Dodge Pickup with mechanical issues for a 2015 Chevrolet Pickup in what Shaw said was a straight trade with no money involved. The trade was with Bayer Motor Company.
  • Approved, on 4-0 votes, were employee changes in both the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office.
  • In his Jail Report, Brown County Sheriff, Vance Hill, reported a total of 149 inmates incarcerated, with 19 of those being contract inmates from other counties. Hill also noted that kitchen renovations at the Law Enforcement Center have been completed as of last week.
