The 10thannual Brownwood Reunion Celebration added a new competition to this year’s event, and it was one of the sweetest contests of the weekend.
The all new Reunion Cake-off contest was held on Saturday at the Martin & Frances Lehnis Railroad Museum with some delicious offerings by talented amateur cake decorators. Cakes were judges on taste, theme, and decoration.
The self titled cake baking team Magic Pan Divas made up of Elizabeth Licea and Melissa Sosebee took the grand prize for their multi-cake Reunion themed entry. They won a $150 prize.
Three other entries won cash prizes including Misty Woodard for a “Feels Like Home” cake, Connie Sliger and Lis Barber for a Brownwood Lions cake entry, and the mother, daughter team of Carren & Chandler Hancock for a circus themed cake. Each one of these entries received a $50 prize.
