Services for Torrence Yvonne Connaway will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Jordan Springs Cemetery.  Mrs. Connaway, 81, a life-long resident of Brownwood, recently passed Thursday evening after suffering from Parkinsons and Alzheimers.  

She was born December 10, 1936.  After graduating from Brownwood High School in 1955, Mrs. Connaway attended and graduated from HPU in 1959 with a degree in education.  In August of 1959, she and Robert Connaway married.  While he was at college at Texas A&M, she began a 31-year teaching career.  Most of her teaching was sixth-grade English.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Connaway and infant daughter, Caren Elizabeth.  Her survivors include one daughter, Carole Jane of San Angelo; son-in-law, Steve and two grandchildren, Morgan and Flynn and two brothers, Noble Corbett of Lubbock and Dan Corbett of Abilene.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations made to the First Baptist Church of Brownwood.
