Additional items include VHS tapes and duplicate HPU yearbooks. All proceeds will benefit students through library improvements.

“The Friends of the Library Book Sale is a great opportunity for the community to step into the library and see the recent updates and discover what we offer,” said Alexia Riggs, HPU’s dean of libraries. “We look forward to this event every year and hope that everyone who attends finds the perfect book! It will be the biggest sale we’ve ever had.”

The goal of the Friends of the Library group is to promote interest in the library and support for its collections and programs. Anyone is welcome to join with memberships ranging from $10 to $100. Library memberships are available to HPU alumni and members of the Friends of the Library group. More information on these membership opportunities will be presented at the sale.

Anyone who wants to join Friends of the Library on Wednesday, February 28th, may do so and enjoy the preview day (the cost to join for non HPU affiliated community members is $35).

On March 1, 2, and 4th (closed on Saturday), the book sale will be open to the community.

Hard cover books will be sold for $1 each, and paperbacks will be sold for fifty cents a piece. Rare books will have prices marked at the sale. Sunday will be half price day.

Times are as follows: Wed, 8 am – 8 pm; Thurs, 8 am – 8 pm; Fri, 8 am – 5 pm; Sat. (closed); Sun, 3 pm – 7 pm.

For more information, contact HPU’s Walker Memorial Library at (325) 649-8602 or [email protected].
