The show’s director, Larry Mathis, describes it as “three sisters coming home to deal with their dying grandfather. It all takes place in the kitchen of their Mississippi childhood home. They get into situations that are both grave and quite humorous.”
The cast of four women and two men includes the three sisters, their (female) cousin, a lawyer, and a boyfriend of one of the sisters. The 1986 movie based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play starred Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange, Sissy Spacek and Sam Shepard.
Auditions will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the theatre located at 318 Center in downtown Brownwood. Hopefuls do not need any material prepared, the audition process will consist of “cold reads” of selections from the script.
The show opens May 18th, and runs through the 27th. Tickets start at $8 for student balcony seats, and go up to $15 for adult orchestra seats.
The final week of “A Few Good Men” is this weekend. The rest of the theatre’s 2018 schedule can be found at the Lyric’s website, or on their Facebook page.
