Lola Humphrey, 84, of Brownwood, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at 8:00 pm at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 19th at the Davis Morris Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm at the Bangs Cemetery. The Rev. John Clifford will officiate at both services.
Lola was born near Thrifty, Texas on August 11, 1925 to Robert Marvin George and Lillie Teague George. She married George Humphrey on June 27, 1942 in Brownwood. Lola and George were long-time residents of Eldorado, Texas where they owned the local Ford dealership along with farming and ranching. Lola currently was a resident of Brownwood and a member of the Early United Methodist Church.
Lola was preceded in death by her husband, George Humphrey, on October 1, 1989 and brothers, Jesse Murl George, Robert Morris George and Billy Mack George.
Survivors include brother-in-law, Dr. John and Lou Humphrey of Bangs, niece and nephew, Dorothy George Field and Jarvis George, both of Coleman, close friend Virene Jackson of Brownwood, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will always remember Lola’s laugh and smile.
