A graveside funeral service for Agatha Edgar, age 83, of Blanket, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. Heartland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Edgar died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at her home.
Agatha Wilson was born on February 5, 1934 in Brown County to O.N. “Blackie” and Leva (Eoff) Wilson. She graduated from Blanket High School in the Class of 1952. She married Bobby G. Edgar on February 6, 1965. Agatha worked for several years as a teller at Citizens National Bank before relocating to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she worked for Eastern Heights State Bank at 3M Center.
Agatha was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Zephyr. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and feeding hummingbirds. Agatha was a lifelong member of Eastern Star.
Agatha is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Edgar of Blanket; a daughter, Marilyn Lewis and husband Jeff of Stephenville; son, Stanley Edgar of Stephenville; daughter, Amy Snyder and husband Glenn of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and son, Scott Edgar of Blanket; five grandchildren, Cody Lewis and wife Brandie of Stephenville, Tyler Lewis of McCamey, Eric, Reed and Jack Snyder, all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Marilyn Elrod and husband Bo of Comanche; three brothers, Rodney Wilson and wife Judy of Blanket, Lavon Wilson and wife Judy of Weatherford and Jimmy Clay Wilson and wife Joanna of Early and a host of nieces and nephews.
Agatha was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
