hannonMamie Hannon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone she met, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Heartland Funeral Home with Chaplain Patricia Banks officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hannon was born on August 12, 1930 in Giddings, Texas to Joe and Beatrice Hernandez Garcia was a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas.  On September 1, 1953 she married Francis R. Hannon Jr. in Chandler, Arizona.

Mrs. Hannon moved to Bangs, Texas in 1989 from Dallas, Texas and was a hostess at the Skillet’s Restaurant in Brownwood for many years.

She is survived by her husband Francis (Frank) Hannon of Bangs; three sons Robert D. Hannon of Jacksonville, Florida, Joe D. Hannon of Waxahachie, Texas and Louis E. Hannon of Azle, Texas; four daughters Suzanne Yates of Houston, Texas, Rachael Milano of Richardson, Texas, Chula Petrus of Plano and Elida Bertrand of Port Arthur, Texas; two sisters Lou Roy of Nederland, Texas and Adele Newsome of Port Arthur, Texas.  Fifteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive her.   She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Joe Garcia Jr. and Louis Garcia and one sister, Dora Juarez.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the America Heart Association.
