Friday, May 27
*8:10 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy met with a complainant at the law enforcement center regarding a case of identity theft. According to the report, the victim stated she was receiving charges in the mail to an account she had not made.
*3:55 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a Bangs residence regarding the theft of approximately $8,000 worth of furniture and household items. According to the report, the complainant stated the items were allegedly stolen by a known family member.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to the report, a female victim stated that her boyfriend had put a firearm to her head during an argument. There were no reported injuries during the incident, the report states.
Saturday, May 28
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a report of harassment. According to the report, the victim stated that a friend of his assaulted him and is now sending threating messages.
Sunday, May 29
*5:16 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle south of Brownwood. According to the report, the deputy had information from a BCSO investigator that the vehicle was occupied by 28-year-old Freddie Rodriguez of Brady, Texas, who was reportedly in possession of methamphetamine and was transporting it to Brownwood. After a positive alert by the canine officer, a search of the vehicle reveled Rodriguez was in possession of approximately 7.0 grams of methamphetamine including packaging, which was found in the back seat of the car, and Rodriguez was subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 greater than 4 grams less than 200 grams, the report states. Rodriguez is being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond as of Wednesday morning.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of two missing Boar goats. According to the report, the two goats were missing from a herd of other livestock including sheep and a miniature horse, and had been discovered missing during a three-week period when the owner was away from the property.
*A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy met with a person at the law enforcement center. According to the report, the person had found a cell phone between two dumpsters at the Harbor Point dump area. The person stated they wanted to turn it in just in case it might be connected with the recent murder investigation.
Monday, May 30
*12:45 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to an assault which occurred at a property on FM 2492. According to the report, the deputy spoke with the victim who stated he had been assaulted by two unknown white males while attempting to help them on the side of the roadway.
*10:27 AM – Brown County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Shady Creek Golf Course in Blanket, regarding a male subject who was creating a disturbance. According to the report, the complainant stated that there had been an assault and damage caused to his property prior to the deputies’ arrival.
*11:25 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy received a report of theft from a property in Early. According to the report, the complainant stated someone had stolen approximately $2530.00 worth of horse tack from his property. An investigation is ongoing the report states.
*12:22 AM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was called to a residence near Lake Brownwood regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant believes someone stole her male pit bull puppy named “Blue.”
*7:48 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Avenue A regarding theft. According to the report, a cooler valued at $450 was stolen from the back of the complainant’s truck. A possible suspect has been named.
Tuesday, May 31
*9:23 AM – Brownwood Police were called to a residence on Canyon Creek regarding the burglary of a habitation. According to the report, vehicle parts were removed from the garage of the home.
*5:34 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Austin Avenue regarding harassment. According to the report, an incident of criminal trespass was documented.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 38-year-old Marcella Ann Barela of Abilene, Texas on a warrant related to failure to appear/evading arrest. Barela was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond as of Wednesday morning.
*The Brownwood City Marshal arrested 20-year-old Ashlyn Brooke Daniels of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to maintain financial responsibility.
*Early Police conducted a follow up investigation on the burglary of the Big J car lot on Gorman Drive. According to the report, while conducting the investigation and following leads, officers located a suspect and then a handgun that was taken from the building. The handgun was located at a residence on Coggin Avenue while officers questioned the suspect Derin Thomas Fortner of Brownwood about the burglary, the report states. Fortner confessed to the burglary and took officers to the location of the car and where he had hidden the keys so that no one would take it, the report states. A complaint was obtained for burglary of a building and a warrant was issued by Judge Brian Thompson. Fortner was arrested for Burglary of a Building. He was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond as of Wednesday morning.
*Brownwood Police arrested 30-year-old Jessie Rick Noyola of Brownwood on a warrant related to harassment.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Christopher Lee Taylor on warrants related to two counts of theft of property.
