CincoDeMayoLogoThe Arts Council of Brownwood is pleased to announce a Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Friday evening, May 6 from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. in the streets of Historic Downtown Brownwood near the Lyric Theatre.

There will be food and craft vendors, activities for children, an area for dancing, and artists painting portraits and caricatures. There will be entertainment in the streets provided by the Matachines de Sta. María Reina de la Paz dancers and Mariachi Los Toros, from Austin. There will also be other activities and contests throughout the evening.

The big concert for the evening will be presented by Revolution, a high school string group from Abilene with 20 members between the ages of 14 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyric Theatre. They play a mix of warm country fiddle with the energy of Celtic reels for a lively and inspiring musical performance experience. Revolution has been a special musical guest and several state and national events, including the National Public Radio’s acclaimed show, From the Top.

For more information, please visit the Arts Council website at www.brownwoodartscouncil.org.
