Early Police Department reports that a 69-year-old man from Mullins, was arrested in Del Rio Wednesday on charges of sexual assault.
According to Early Chief of Police David Mercer, officers responded to a Brownwood address on January 21, 2015 where a 38-year-old female reported that she had gone to a business in the 400 block of Early Blvd. for a massage at a new business that was opened by masseuse Rolando Santa Maria. According to the report, the victim stated that she knew Santa Maria and had received a massage from him previously; however, as she received the massage on the date of the assault, Santa Maria began to touch her in a sexual manner. She got up, got dressed, told Santa Maria that the massage was over, and she left, the report states. The victim stated that Santa Maria only stated “I’m sorry,” in Spanish as she was leaving, police state.
An EPD detective made contact with 69-year-old Rolando Santa Maria and requested he come to the Early Police Department to talk about the incident; however, Santa Maria never made his appointment, Mercer reported. Detectives made contact with Rolando Santa Maria’s attorney who stated he had no contact with Rolando Santa Maria and did not know his whereabouts, the report states.
The case was presented to the Brown County Grand Jury were an indictment was issued. On March 20, 2016, Rolando Santa Maria was arrested by the Del Rio Police Department, according to police. Rolando Santa Maria has since been transferred back to Brown County and is being held on $20,000 bond as of Thursday morning.

*12:14 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 500 block of E. Commerce regarding a hit and run accident. According to the report, the complainant stated that a female struck her vehicle with another vehicle and then fled the scene.
*Brownwood police arrested 43-year-old Daniel Martin Lyon of Brownwood on a warrant related to theft of property greater than $20 less than $500 by check.
