Friday, August 21
*10:05 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1400 block of Austin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, a male subject stole two packs of beer from the business and was issued a citation for theft less than $50.
*1:45 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, male subject stole a set of headphones valued at $29.99 and was issued a citation for theft less than $50.
*7:14 PM – Brownwood Police received a report via phone call of identification theft. According to the report, an unknown subject used the victim’s identification to obtain television services in Brownwood.
*10:31 PM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the 1000 block of W. Commerce. This stop led to the arrest of Emerson Hansen of Early for driving while intoxicated, the report states.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 34-year-old Erik J. Leary of Webster, New York for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces in a drug free zone.
*Texas Department of Public Safety arrested 29-year-old Joe Padron of Dublin for Medina County warrants related to failure to appear/manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, violate pre-trial supervision/manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram, and failure to appear/driving while intoxicated.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Leslee Jo Reid of Brownwood on a warrant related to failure to appear/possession of a controlled substance. Reid was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond as of Monday morning.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old James Kristopher Simmons of Menard on a surety withdrawal for burglary of a habitation. Simmons was being held in the Brown County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond as of Monday morning.
Saturday, August 22
*12:15 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue regarding theft. According to the report, a male subject was reported to have stolen magazines from the store. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*4:32 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of W. Austin and Melwood Avenues. According to the report, this stop led to the discovery that 25-year-old Breanne Nicholle Jones of Brownwood was in possession of multiple items of identifying information of other people. Jones was arrested for fraudulent use/possession of identifying information less than 5 items, according to police.
*6:39 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Woodridge Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a pair of Oakley sunglasses (valued at $210) were stolen from the vehicle. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*10:18 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1500 block of Terrace Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. According to the report, an interview with the parties involved was completed and a primary aggressor could not be determined; however, one of the parties willingly left the area and the incident was documented.
*10:22 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 1700 block of Southgate regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, an unlocked vehicle was burglarized and several of the victim’s personal belongings were stolen. The investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*10:23 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Idlewild for an assault. According to the report, an incident of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault was documented.
*10:24 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the 2300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding the theft of a motor vehicle. According to the report, the complainant had left his vehicle in the parking lot of the VFW overnight and when he returned to get it, it was no longer there.
*11:27 AM – Brownwood Police were called to the 2000 block of Elizabeth Drive regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, the suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and removed the victim’s personal belongings. An investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*11:36 AM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding the burglary of a vehicle. According to the report, a wallet containing the victim’s identification and $60 cash were some of the items stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
*Brown County Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Alfredo L. Vasquez, Jr. of Brownwood on warrants related to failure to maintain financial responsibility and violate promise to appear.
Sunday, August 23
*12:02 AM – Brownwood Police made a traffic stop in the area of Parkway and Vincent Street. This stop led to the arrest of the driver, 21-year-old Colby Byrd of Brownwood, for driving while intoxicated.
*5:26 AM – Brownwood Police responded to the report of the burglary of a vehicle in the 1900 block of Vincent Street. According to the report, a .22 pistol and $2,000 in cash were stolen from the vehicle. The theft was believed to have occurred between 10 PM on August 22nd and 5:15 AM on August 23rd.
*5:58 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Stephen F. Austin regarding theft. According to the report, the complainant stated that someone had broken into his storage unit and stole tools and a knife. The investigation is ongoing, the report states.
*8:50 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 400 block of W. Commerce regarding theft. According to the report, an investigation determined that the theft was greater than $50 less than $500. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Adam McKenzie of Early, was subsequently arrested.
*9:23 PM – A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy made a traffic stop in the 4400 block of US 377 South in Brownwood. The stop was made on the vehicle for having a defective high-mount brake light. Nervous behavior was detected and a consent search eventually resulted in the arrest of the driver, identified as 25-year-old Johnny Ray White of Indianapolis, Indiana, for possession of marijuana < 2 ounces.
*10:19 PM – Brownwood Police were called to the 1300 block of 13th Street regarding the theft of a vehicle. This call led to the arrest of the complainant, identified as 32-year-old Leanne Bailey along with 20-year-old Saber West Fraley, 23-year-old Dartanion Fraley and David Bryant (all of Brownwood) for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1 less than 1 gram in a drug free zone.
*10:44 PM – Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Cottage Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.
*Texas Parks and Wildlife Department arrested 41-year-old James Frazier of Cushing, Oklahoma for driving while intoxicated.
*Bangs Police arrested 39-year-old Weston S. Hinze of Bangs for assault causes bodily injury family violence.
Monday, August 24
*Brownwood Police arrested 20-year-old Brandon King Brownlee of Brownwood for failure to appear and no liability insurance.
