STEPHENVILLE – In the regular season finale, the Brownwood Lady Lions’ seven-game win streak came to an end with a 1-0 loss to Stephenville Friday night, resulting in a split of the District 5-4A girls soccer championship.
Having lost in regulation to Stephenville, opposed to their penalty kick shootout victory over the Honeybees in Brownwood, the Lady Lions (17-4-1, 7-1) will be the second seed from 5-4A in the Class 4A Division I playoffs, and will face top-ranked Waxahachie Life for bi-district.
First, however, the Lady Lions have scheduled a playoff warmup game at Fort Worth Castleberry at 4 p.m. Thursday.
