Nelda Haynie

Nelda Juanita Foster Haynie, age 97 of Richland Springs, Texas, passed away February 25, 2025, at her residence at Hall Valley in Richland Springs. A graveside visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs, Texas, a graveside service will follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Donna McPherson. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.

Nelda was born December 26, 1927, in Hall, Texas at home to John Cornelius and Opal Foster. She is the oldest of three children. Nelda worked for Texaco Oil Company which started out Tide Water Oil and then Getty Oil and then Texaco bought it. She worked for the oil co9mpancy for 25 years until she retired. She lived in Midland, Texas until she moved to Richland Springs in 2020. She enjoyed her retirement being with her family and friends, traveling with her line dancing companions for about 10 years. She went traveling with Desk and Derrick (an oil field organization) with the employees from her work while she was still working. She loved her family and helped her family all she could, which included her parents and her sister Reba, and Reba’s four daughters, she also loved her cats. Nelda had no children of her own.

Nelda is preceded in death by her parents, John Cornelius “Neal” Foster and Opal Lydia Crane Foster, her brother Jackie Neal Foster and her great nephew William “Billy” Wayne Carter.

Nelda is survived by her sister Reba Ann Foster and her 4 nieces, Pamela Wood Martin and husband Lonnie from Odessa, Texas, Cindy Sue Wood from Richland Springs, Texas, Donna Wood McPherson from Whitney, Texas, Denine Wood Miller and husband Craig from Mercury, Texas, and several great nieces and nephews as well as a great-great niece, Riley Ann Carter.
