Determined, Overcomer, Spirit lead, these are the words that describe Kaydence Allen.
Born and raised in Brownwood Texas. Kaydence Allen is a sophomore at Brownwood High School and is the daughter of Latoya Allen.
Kaydence loves the game of softball; she plays travel ball for Glory Adkins-Crelia 16u- based out of Early/Brownwood. She has played softball since she was 5 years old, and her primary positions are pitcher, first and third base.
Kaydence is a 3-time Softball Youth All-American. She has also earned several MVP Awards from playing in softball tournaments across the state of Texas, especially in the DFW area, as well as West Texas. She has also traveled to Florida and New Mexico to play softball.
Kaydence will get to play her first season of high school softball this year. She was unable to play last season due to an ACL injury in November of 2023. This is something that Kaydence has looked forward to for a very long time. No stranger to adversity, Kaydence says it was her favorite bible scripture that got her through tough times: Phillians 4:13. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This verse has helped Kaydence overcome so much in the last year.
Attending college has been a major part of her motivation, although she’s unsure of which school she will attend, Kaydence knows what her major will be, she plans to pursue a major in nursing. She also hopes to have the opportunity to play softball in college.
As much as she loves softball, she equally loves volunteering. Volunteering has always held a special place in her heart. She likes to volunteer at Good Samaritan, the Animal Shelter and nursing homes/assisted living centers in the area, especially Red Stone Park. She is a member of HOSA and enjoys hanging out with her friends and cooking in her spare time.
With so much division and hate in the world and the hopes for a better world, Kaydence leans on her favorite quote: Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that, hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. – Martin Luther King.
To Kaydence, this quote means that as long as we can work together as one, we can achieve the impossible.
She would like to thank Ruby Rivera, who came into her life when she was 8 years old, she helped mold her into the person and softball player that she is today.
Good luck with all your future endeavors Kaydence, ROC is rooting for and supporting you. Good luck on the upcoming softball year.
