FREDERICKSBURG – The Brownwood Lady Lions soccer team was dealt its first defeat away from home Friday, falling to Fredericksburg, 5-2.
The Lady Lions (10-3) owned a 2-1 halftime lead, but surrendered four goals in the second half, including three in the final 10 minutes. Brownwood had yielded just four goals all the season, while scoring 50, entering the contest.
Jacklyn Lewis scored one goal for the Lady Lions with an assist from Kynlie Lewis, while Isabella Garza also contributed a goal.
The JV Lady Lions knocked off Fredericksburg, 4-1.
The Lady Lions kick off District 5-4A action at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Lampasas.
