HOOPS ROUNDUP: Early Lady Horns roll, May and Zephyr sweep foes

Early Lady Horns 60, Peaster 17

PEASTER – The Early Lady Horns improved to 7-2 against District 8-3A competition and 17-11 for the season with a 60-17 road victory over Peaster Friday.

Aliyah Harlan and Gabby Benson led the offensive onslaught with 18 points apiece followed by 11 from Jamie Vassar, five from Pearl Sharp, three from Cali Vargas, two each from Sydney Greaves and Avery Williams, and one point from Andie Simpson.

The Lady Horns host first-place Comanche at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

May Tigers 74, Blanket Tigers 23

MAY – The TABC Class A No. 14 May Tigers reeled off their 21st victory in a row, moved to 22-1 on the season and improved to 6-0 in District 21-1A action with a 74-23 home win over Blanket Friday.

May was in front 30-4 after one quarter, 49-10 at halftime, and 67-14 heading to the fourth period.

Brody Stice scored 25 points for May trailed by Kobey Morris with 20, Ben Harrell with 10, JD White with five, Tyran Perry with four, Wyatt Hardy and Mikey Scheriger with three each, and Kaden Watkins and Jackson Lusk with two points apiece.

Blanket received 12 points from Mason Beck, four from Cole Furry, three from Dallas Shumaker, and two points from Kannon Kensing.

May visits Rising Star Tuesday while Blanket hosts Santa Anna.

May Lady Tigers 67, Blanket Lady Tigers 22

MAY – The May Lady Tigers secured their 13th straight victory and remained undefeated in District 21-1A action with a 67-22 home win over Blanket Friday.

May (15-8, 8-0) led 15-3 after one quarter, 29-8 at halftime, and 51-13 through three frames.

Jordyn Gerhardt scored a game-high 20 points for May trailed by 13 from Mia Musick, 11 from Chloe Lord, eight from McKenna Landes, four apiece from Aubree Gerhardt and Cortney Harper, three from Summer Hicks, and two points each from Kenlyn King and Bekah Roberts.

For Blanket, Dallas Moreno tallied eight points followed by seven each from Karli Kinkade and Makenzie Willis.

May heads to Rising Star Tuesday while Blanket welcomes Santa Anna.

Zephyr Bulldogs 90, Priddy Pirates 29

ZEPHYR – The District 25-1A front-running Zephyr Bulldogs moved to 6-0 in league play and 14-10 on the season with a 90-29 home victory over Priddy Friday.

The Bulldogs were ahead 27-4 after one quarter, 47-11 at halftime, and 70-20 heading to the fourth period.

Leading the charge for Zephyr was CJ Byers with 17 points trailed by Bauer Blair with 14, Reese Hamm with 13, Spencer Marwitz and Ethan Byers with 11 each, Cash Whisenhunt with seven, Hunter Davidson with six, Wyatt Stevens with five, and Cooper Walls and Johnny Paul Evans-Rollins with three points apiece.

Zephyr visits Mullin Tuesday.
