Early celebrated Purple Day on Saturday evening to a crowd of fans and parents. The annual event is to introduce the 2009 sports teams to the public, raise some money for the booster club, and have a little fun along the way.
The event started out with a hamburger supper along with some socializing. Kids got a chance to play and expel some energy before heading to the stadium for introductions.
The crowd then had a seat in Early’s new stadium to meet the teams. Fans were introduced to the 7th & 8th grade cross country teams, the Purple Pride Drill Team, Early Middle School Cheerleaders, 7th & 8th grade football teams, the High School cross country teams, JV & Varsity Cheerleaders, The Freshman & JV football teams, Longhorn Stampede, Early Longhorn Belles Dance Team, Early Longhorn band, and the grand finale of the 2009 Early Longhorn Varsity football team.
Following the event, there were fun and games for the kids along with a silent auction for the adults to raise money for the Early Booster Club.
Loads of fans showed up with the event lasting well after dark.
