ZEPHYR – The May Lady Tigers knocked off the Zephyr Lady Bulldogs, 36-29, in the championship game of the Zephyr basketball tournament Saturday.
May (8-8), which won its sixth game in a row, led Zephyr by a 16-1 counter after one quarter and 22-4 at halftime, but the Lady Bulldogs charged back to trim the deficit to 29-20 heading into the fourth period.
The Lady Tigers were led by 10 points from Mia Musick, eight from Chloe Lord, seven from McKenna Landes, five from Kenlyn King, four from Jordyn Gerhardt and two points from Cortney Harper.
The Lady Bulldogs received 10 points from Avery Stevens, seven from Haley Eason, five from Kirsten King, four from Nae’j Payne, and three from Riley Hood.
The May girls visit Blanket Tuesday while the Zephyr girls host Mullin.
