This week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, and a small group of lawmakers discussing our plans to cut wasteful spending and fraud in our government. The American people delivered a mandate in November, and we are already hitting the ground running to ensure we are ready to go in January. I am excited to work with these two leaders in the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Advocating for Agriculture Producers
As the 118th Congress begins to wrap up, I am actively advocating for strong assistance to farmers and ranchers who have experienced natural disasters, inflation, or drought. I am a proud co-sponsor of the Farmer Assistance and Revenue Mitigation (FARM) Actwhich will assist producers when their revenue falls below the cost of production due to circumstances beyond their control. We must provide much-needed relief to our farmers and ranchers. Food security is national security.
Probing DOE on LNG Export Ban
I joined the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability in questioning the Biden-Harris Administration’s ban on liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports. There have been several reports that the Department of Energy (DOE) used a flawed study to shut down LNG exports. The U.S. House passed my legislation in a bipartisan vote to reverse this de facto ban that would hurt American energy production.
American energy is the cleanest, most affordable, secure energy on the planet. President Biden and Vice President Harris must answer for their political targeting of the Permian Basin. Watch my full line of questioning here or below.
Washington Watch with Tony Perkins
I joined Washington Watch with Tony Perkins to discuss my new role as Republican Study Committee Chairman and the House Republican Majority next Congress. The American people gave Congress a mandate to secure the border, bring down inflation, and restore national security. Watch the interview hereor below.
FTC Blocking Scott Sheffield from ExxonMobil Board
Earlier this year, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleged that Pioneer Natural Resources Chairman Scott Sheffield colluded with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to manipulate global oil and gas production and increase oil and gas prices.
In response, the FTC blocked Mr. Sheffield from joining the board at ExxonMobil following the merger of the two companies. I sent a letter to FTC Chairwoman Lina Khan demanding answers and transparency for this decision. This is a blatant overreach of the FTC and its power.
While in our Nation’s Capital this week, I sat down with representatives from Frontera Healthcare to discuss expanding telehealth and other health-related services for patients in Texas-11. Our communities are extremely fortunate to have their leadership and compassionate patient care.
San Angelo Town Hall Recap
We had a fantastic turnout for our Town Hall in San Angelo at the VFW Post 1815. Thank you to all those who attended and asked questions about the direction of our country.
I had the pleasure of recognizing and presenting Elaine Moore with a Congressional Certificate for her work in presenting congratulatory medals to Tom Green County newly naturalized citizens. Elaine started this endeavor in 2021 to show admiration for those who have gone through the process of becoming American citizens. Respect for their dedication and perseverance is the fuel that drives her in this ongoing display of patriotism. May we all strive to be like Elaine!
Thank you for reading. It is the honor of my lifetime to serve you in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for daily updates.
