Goldthwaite 55, Maud 12
CORSICANA – The District 10-2A Division II fourth seed Goldthwaite Eagles followed their 46-0 victory over then No. 1 Mart with a 55-12 triumph the over District 9 champion Maud Cardinals in Region III bi-district action Friday night.
Goldthwaite (7-4) jumped out to a 21-0 lead after one quarter over Maud (6-5), carried a 34-12 advantage into the halftime locker room, and added three more trips to the end zone in the second half.
The Eagles produced 372 yards of total offense – 329 rushing and 43 passing – with the game’s lone turnover, while allowing 257 yards – 164 through the air and 93 on the ground.
Landry Sanderson rushed for a team-high 183 yards and four touchdowns from 9, 6, 60 and 44 yards out. Luke Sanderson chipped in 94 yards and a 60-yard touchdown on the ground, to go along with a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown, and two catches for a team-best 33 yards.
Aidyn Lee passed for 42 yards, Gary Wiedebusch added 19 yards and a touchdown on the ground and Casen Wiedebusch caught two passes for 8 yards.
Next week, Goldthwaite will battle District 11 third seed Grapeland (8-3) – a 42-20 winner over District 12 runner-up West Sabine (7-4) Friday night – in the Class 2A Division II Region III area round at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at Waco ISD Stadium.

Coleman 40, Wolfe City 35
GODLEY – The fourth straight victory for the District 5-2A Division I third seed Coleman Bluecats resulted in the program’s fourth consecutive bi-district championship in a thrilling 40-35 victory over the District 6 runner-up Wolfe City Wolves in Class 2A Division I Region II opening round action Thursday night.
The Bluecats (4-7) raced out to at 34-15 lead only to witness Wolfe City (8-3) surge ahead 35-34 just 45 seconds into the fourth period. But Anthony Espitia’s 3-yard touchdown carry with 4:35 left put Coleman up for good by the final five-point margin.
Coleman led 12-7 after one quarter as Kelan Sikes caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Edington and Blaine Bouldin rushed for a 2-yard score.
The lead stood at 26-15 at halftime as Paul Salas found the end zone after a 25-yard run and Bouldin chipped in a 9-yard scoring sprint.
The Bluecats were ahead 34-28 heading into the fourth period, thanks to Bouldin’s third touchdown run of the night, again from 9 yards out.
Coleman finished with 375 yards – 216 passing and 159 rushing – with one turnover, compared to Wolfe City’s 387 yards – 246 through the air and 141 on the ground – also with a turnover.
Edington threw for 216 yards with Espitia grabbing four catches for 89 yards, Salas finishing with two receptions for 73 yards, and Micah Lackey adding two grabs for 39 yards.
Bouldin led the ground game with 83 yards followed by Salas with 45 and Espitia with 25 yards.
Defensively, Coleman was led by Brayden Torres with 16 tackles and a fumble recovery, Paul Salas with 13 tackles, Brooks Clippinger with 10 tackles and a fumble recovery, Easton Meador with 10 tackles, including two for loss, and Micah Lackey with an interception.
Next week, Coleman will take on District 7 champion Axtell (10-1) – a 24-10 winner over District 8 fourth seed Cayuga (4-7) Thursday – at 7 p.m. Friday Nov. 22 at Weatherford in Class 2A Division I Region II area playoff action.

Peaster 33, Comanche 30 (OT)
GRAHAM – The Comanche Indians’ season came to an end in overtime of the Class 3A Division I Region I bi-district round of the playoffs at the hands of the Peaster Greyhounds, 33-30, Thursday night.
District 3 third seed Comanche (7-4) finished with 357 yards of total offense, including 277 rushing, with a pair of turnovers, while District 4 runner-up Peaster (9-2) generated 345 yards, with 271 coming through the air, and one turnover en route to the program’s first playoff victory.
Down 13-0 after one quarter, Comanche rallied to grab a 14-13 edge early in the third period on a 25-yard touchdown pass from Cayden Davis to Alex Terrell and a 14-yard scamper by Davis.
Peaster regained a 20-14 advantage, but the Indians drew even at 20 on a 50-yard scoring strike from Davis to Terrell, and forged in front, 27-20, with 3:54 to go on a 77-yard touchdown carry by Davis.
The Greyhounds scored the tying touchdown with 1:57 left, and in the overtime session Comanche had to settle for a 44-yard Terrell field goal. Peaster responded with a 7-yard touchdown pass to snatch the victory.
Davis finished with 209 rushing yards for Comanche and passed for 80 yards. Ladanian Smith tacked 64 yards on the ground, while Terrell’s two receptions were a team-high covering 74 yards.

Crawford 21, San Saba 15
COPPERAS COVE – The District 14-2A Division I second seed San Saba Armadillos witnessed their season reach its conclusion with a 21-15 loss to the District 13 third seed Crawford Pirates, 21-15, Friday night in Region IV bi-district action.
San Saba (6-5) was limited to 265 yards – 207 rushing and 58 passing – by the Crawford (3-8) defense.
Armadillo quarterback Luke Tharp rushed for 128 yards – and finished with 1,889 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground for the season – and completed 5 of 7 passes for 58 yards. Jason Everett added 74 yards on the ground and scored both San Saba touchdowns.
Leading receivers were Levi Glover with four grabs for 56 yards and Everett added a 2-yard catch.
Defensively for the Armadillos, Everett led the charge with 14 tackles followed by 12 from Glover, seven from Kolten Pierce and six from Juan Patino, who recovered two Crawford fumbles.
