I am honored to announce that my colleagues elected me today to be the Chairman of the Republican Study Committee for the 119th Congress.
Founded in 1973, the Republican Study Committee is the largest caucus of House Conservatives on Capitol Hill. The organization works to enact strong conservative policies that provide for and protect the American people.
This organization has been led by incredible mentors of mine, including Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Congressman Jim Jordan, Senator-Elect Jim Banks, and current Chairman Kevin Hern.
As Chairman, I am committed to championing policies that protect our freedoms, ensure national security, and foster economic prosperity for all Americans. The RSC will continue to be the conservative backbone of the House, pushing for a strong, resilient America that can stand up to both foreign adversaries and domestic challenges.
Together, we will work to advance conservative principles and make life better for hardworking Americans, while holding the line on runaway spending, promoting energy dominance, and securing our borders.
While in this role, my dedication and commitment to serving as your elected representative does not change. It is the honor of a lifetime to represent this great district and be entrusted to protect our Texas way of life. I look forward to continuing to serve you and my colleagues in Congress.

Repealing WEP and GPO
I joined a bipartisan majority of my colleagues in voting to repeal the Windfall Elimination Penalty (WEP) and the Government Pension Offest (GPO) for public servants. For decades, millions of teachers, firefighters, police officers, and first responders have lost benefits they worked hard to earn due to an outdated formula by the Social Security Administration. This is a huge step for millions of Americans. The legislation is now awaiting consideration by the U.S. Senate.
President Trump in Washington
It was great to have President Trump back in Washington this week to address the House Republican Conference. We have spent the majority of this week holding leadership elections and setting the House Rules for the next Congress.
We are all united and ready to get our country back on track!
Standing Up for Women and Girls in Sports
During a volleyball match at the U.S. Air Force Academy, a fan was stopped from wearing a shirt that read “Keep Women’s Sports Female.”
I wrote a letter demanding answers from the Academy for their reasoning behind this action. The First Amendment must be protected from partisan actors. Read more in OutKick here or below.
November is Military Family Appreciation Month
Please join me in recognizing the sacrifice and commitment of our military families. On average, military families move every two and half years, facing the unique challenge of rebuilding community time after time.
I am extremely thankful to my wife Camille and our three girls for supporting me during my time serving. Thank you to all of our military families who serve alongside their loved ones!
Thank you for reading. It is the honor of my lifetime to serve you in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for daily updates.
