HICO – After opening District 5-2A volleyball competition with a straight-set victory over Coleman at home Saturday, the Bangs Lady Dragons ended up on the receiving end of a league sweep by the Hico Lady Tigers Tuesday.
Bangs dropped a 25-18, 25-21, 25-20 decision to slip to 1-1 against district foes and 14-14 for the season.
Neeley Bradley finished with eight kills for the Lady Dragons followed by six from Ashlynn Sliger, five from Cameryn Harmon, three from Kasey Solis and one each from Justice Baker, Ava Boren and Dyan McCurdy.
Boren led the way with eight assists while Bradley chalked up seven.
Solis served three aces, Cloey Petty and Kylee Byler tacked on two each and Bradley recorded one.
Defensively, Solis registered 13 digs trailed by Petty with nine, Julianna Ethridge with eight, Byler with four, Harmon with three, Baker and Boren with two apiece, and Sliger and Bradley with one each.
At the net, Bradley, Solis, Harmon and Sliger each notched a block.
The Lady Dragons are back in action at 4 p.m. Friday at De Leon.
