The victory was the third in a row for Hamilton (2-0) over Early (1-1) dating back to 2019.
Early scored the first touchdown of the game Friday, but Hamilton answered with the next 34 points to open a 34-7 edge at halftime. The Longhorns tacked on two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, where the Bulldogs added another as well.
The Longhorns, who were coming off a 33-12 victory at Bangs in Week 1, finished with 431 yards of total offense – 223 on the ground and 208 through the air – with two turnovers.
Hamilton, which knocked off Millsap, 33-18, last week, generated 550 yards with 360 coming on the ground on 40 carries, and 190 coming through the air on 10 of 14 passing, while losing the ball just once.
Longhorn receiver Andrew Reedy caught a team-high nine passes for 119 yards and chipped in 36 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Early quarterback Weston Barton completed 16 of 30 passes for 208 yards with a touchdown and an interception, while also rushing for 48 yards.
Ben Bleth chipped in five receptions for 71 yards and Jaxson Stockman caught two passes covering 18 yards and scored once.
Cameron Love led the Longhorns with 63 yards rushing while Ben Morris contributed 48 and Brandon Walker finished with 28.
Defensively, Kaeden Byrd again led Early with 11 tackles, followed by 10 tackles and a fumble recovery from Mario Vazquez, and nine tackles from Barton.
Next week, the Longhorns host Junction, which is off to a 2-0 start after a 28-27 win over San Saba Friday night.
