LAMPASAS – The Brownwood Lady Lions put forth their most complete effort of the young volleyball season Tuesday night as they halted a five-match skid with a 25-10, 25-18, 25-9 straight-set road victory over Lampasas.
The Brownwood attack was spearheaded by Aubrie Felux, who recorded a season-best 14 kills, trailed by Aniah Hines with six, Miranda Northcutt with five, Hannah Deen and Demayha Hooker with three apiece, and Trinity Roberts with a pair.
Icess Hall distributed a dozen assists while Hines tacked on six, and Felux and Maddi Scott each contributed one.
Roberts served a team-high five aces while Felux and Hines notched three apiece.
On the defensive end, Scott finished with a team-best seven digs followed by Deen with six, Hines and Felux with three apiece, and Hooker and Roberts with one each.
Meanwhile, Hines recorded all three of the Brownwood blocks.
The Lady Lions (2-5) will next take part in the Heart of Texas tournament Thursday and Saturday at the Brownwood Coliseum and Brownwood High School. Brownwood’s first match is at 9 a.m. Thursday, a rematch of the season opener against Early.
