BROCK – The Brownwood Lady Lions sent five teams to the Brock 6-Mile Relay Saturday to open the high school cross country team.
In the 10K run, the Lady Lions placed fourth in a time of 38:23.13 and sixth with a time of 40:17.53. Two teams from reigning Class 5A state runner-up Aledo claimed the top spots while a pair of squads from 5A Azle came in third and fifth.
In the 5K portion of the relays, the Lady Lions were second with a time of 21:23.06, third with a mark of 21:40.96, and seventh in a time of 23:43.54. Iowa Park placed first as a team while two Azle teams and one from Brock came in fourth, fifth and sixth.
Running for Team 1 for the Lady Lions were Kate Tindol, Braycee Lee, and Sidney Windham. Team 2 was comprised of Talia Craff, Haylee Adkins and Kylea Karnes. Making up Team 3 were Khloe Galvan, Alena Bernal and Kiara Delce. Team 4 featured Joclyn Salazar, Sidney Adkins and Montanna Ramsey. Team 5 included Karissa Raines, Autumn Reeves and Kylie Arocha.
Meanwhile, the Brownwood Lions teams placed 8th and 15th out of 22 teams on the boys side.
The next action for the Lions and Lady Lions is Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Jim Ned Invitational.
