Kayli DeVusser earned the Junior Varsity Lady State Champion title this past weekend in San Antonio. Kayli and her Early Longshots teammates shot three disciplines over the course of the event, including American Trap, American Skeet and Sporting Clays.
It was tight competition, placings came down to just one clay. Kayli placed 3rd in American Skeet after a head to head shoot off for 3rd place; 2nd in American Trap, just one target off first; 2nd in Sporting Clays, just two targets off first. But, it was the 3 event scores accumulated that made for the State Title.
Kayli earned her title, after another head to head shoot off. This time, in all three events, outshooting her opponent 15/17 to 11/17. Kayli will continue her training to prepare for the 4-H Shotgun State Championship in July.
