Renovations have started this week at the Brownwood High School softball and baseball fields as the part of the $59 million bond project that was passed in May 2023.
On Tuesday, the fencing and lights were removed at the softball field, while Wednesday saw the bleachers, press box and concession stand demolished at the baseball complex.
Both fields will receive new fencing and new lights, along with artificial turf, while the baseball field will also feature new bleachers, dugouts, backstop, and a canopy over batting cages. A parking lot will also be built between the two fields with an entrance from Magnolia Avenue. The projects are expected to be completed before the start of the 2025 seasons.
The following are a few photos from the softball field earlier this week.
