The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of May 16:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water normal stain; 75 degrees; 4.52 feet below pool. The lake level continues to rise and the water carity is dirty on the main lake and muddy towards the rivers. Black bass to 5.79 pounds are good on chatterbaits, shakyhead and crankbaits in 3-12 feet of water. Crappie are good with catches up to 13 inches under docks in 5-9 feet of water with black and chartreuse, or white with a chartreuse head jig in 5-9 feet of water. Some crappie are on brush piles using minnows in 10-12 feet of water. White bass are good on crankbaits and small swimbaits. Catfish are fair on cut or prepared bait.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water stained; 72 degrees; 11.66 feet below pool. Bass are good on Model A Bomber crankbaits, and crappie are good on minnows in 15-20 feet of water. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Water stained; 68 degrees; 3.42 feet below pool. The lake has risen 6 feet in a week which can slow the bite until the water stabilizes. Before the rise in water bass reports were good.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 74 degrees; 30.11 feet below pool. The lake is still on the rise after the recent rains. Largemouth bass are good on topwaters with catches up to 7 pounds. Big plum or red bug worms are good in 8-18 feet of water along ledges. White bass are good on the north island and mid lake using top waters and rattle traps. Crappie are fair, migrating toward deeper trees suspended 10-12 feet. Catfish are excellent with catches up to 18 pounds on cut shad and live bait up river in muddy water shallow. LAKE PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 65 degrees; 7.93 feet below pool. The lake level continues to rise as water runs into the lake. The Sowell Creek day use ramp and Copperas Creek west campground ramp are open.
