The Early Police Department shared the following information on its Facebook page Monday afternoon:
On Monday, May 13 at approximately 5 a.m., officers were called to a business in the 900 block of Early Blvd. for a car burglary in progress.
Upon the officers’ arrival, a female was found rummaging through the store owner’s vehicle. The officers went to take the suspect into custody, at which time the female began to resist and attempted to fight with the officer striking him once and making attempts to bite the officer. Officers were able to handcuff the suspect and place her in the patrol car. The female suspect showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance while officers attempted to talk to her. The female suspect had several items with her, the items were found to belong to another business in the 300 block of Early Blvd.
After further investigation, officers learned the female had used a rock that was still in her possession to break the window of a vehicle. The female was identified as Natalie Dawn Bryan, a 24-year-old from Granbury. Bryan was charged with 2 counts of burglary of a vehicle, assault of a peace officer, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.
