LUBBOCK – The District 6-4A champion Brownwood Lady Lions golf team followed Wednesday’s team round of 370 with a 391 Thursday for a 761 composite score and eighth place finish at the Region I-4A tournament at Shadow Hills Golf Course.
Tristyn Garcia finished as the low golfer of the tournament for the Lady Lions as she opened with a 92 and closed with a 93 for a 185 total during the two-day, 36-hole event. London England carded a 90 Wednesday and added a 96 Thursday as she finished at 186. River Jones tallied an 89 to start and a 99 to close for a 188 total. Adrianna Allen carded a 99 Wednesday with a 103 Thursday for a 202 score, and Riley Morton followed her opening 100 with a 105 and finished at 205.
Andrew won its 13th consecutive regional championship with a 612 composite score and is one of three teams advancing to UIL Class 4A Girls Golf State Tournament at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland May 6-7, along with runner-up Canyon (636) and third-place Seminole (637).
