The 2024 Heart of Texas Quilt Show, hosted by the Brownwood Quilters Guild, will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 19 and and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at the Brownwood Coliseum.

The theme for this year is Christmas quilts as more than 80 quilts will be on display. The Quilt of Valor presentation will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday in front of the Coliseum. A bed turning will take place each day at 1 p.m. Also, Kevin Krietler from Clyde will be on hand to sharpen scissors. There will also be a special exhibit at the entrance of Heart of Texas Quilt Show featuring red and white quilts created by Linda Lancaster, and a Quilted Forrest Exhibit procured by Shaula Pattion from the Feathered Star.

Professional quilt appraisals by Denise Coulter will be offered in 30-minute sessions between 10 a.m. and noon and 2 to 5:30 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Scheduled appointments are $35 each and walk-ins are available as time allows for $40 each.

Each year the Brownwood Quilters’ Guild creates a donation quilt and gives a portion of the proceeds to a worthy local non-profit organization. The recipient of this year’s funds will be Rackin’ Up Dreams Outdoors.

For more information, visit the Brownwood Quilters Guild Facebook page.

The Brownwood Quilters Guild meets the third Tuesday each month at 9:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 2411 Coggin Avenue, Brownwood.
