SALSA, the Strategic Alliance for Leadership and Social Action, will again bring its popular 50-50 Raffle to the Cinco de Mayo Downtown Celebration, Saturday, May 4.

Last year’s raffle raised $1,700 and a very happy winner took home $850 with just one ticket. One person can win half of the money raised from the total number of tickets sold, which is expected to yield hundreds of dollars from the thousands of people expected to attend.

Ticket prices start at 1 for $1, 7 for $5, 15 for $10, and 30 for $20. The winner will be drawn on May 4 at the end of the celebration and will not need to be present to win.

Persons wanting to buy 15 tickets or more in advance can call Joel Andrade at 325.642.2955 to arrange a purchase prior to May 4.

The raffle helps SALSA raise money for scholarships. Last year, SALSA awarded $7,500 in scholarships to 15 graduating high school seniors from Brownwood and surrounding communities from funds raised at the Cinco de Mayo Celebration, sponsored by the Arts Council of Brownwood.
