The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of January 17:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 43 degrees; 8.71 feet below pool. Black bass are slow with catches up to 4.5 pounds on suspended swimbaits, or chatterbaits around the shoreline in 2-8 feet of water. Crappie are slow around the docks and brush piles on minnows in 12-18 feet of water. White bass are poor on crankbaits and small jigs. Catfish are slow on baited holes.

LAKE CISCO

FAIR. Water slightly stained; 60 degrees; 11.65 feet below pool. High winds and freezing temperatures in the forecast. Expect the bite to slow and fish to move deep. Catfish are biting in 20 feet of water on goldfish or perch. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water stained; 50 degrees; 8.71 feet below pool. Bass are slow with crankbaits and rattletraps. Crappie are slow in deep water with jigs. White and hybrid bass are slow.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

FAIR. Water stained; 45 degrees. Expect the crappie, channel catfish and white bass to drop to deeper water after the cold front. Start at 30 feet deep and move deeper in the river channels. Crappie and white bass are good on the main lake chasing balls of shad in the deep water using small slab baits, crappie jigs, or live minnows. Blue and channel catfish are on the edge or river and creek channels using live minnows, fresh cut shad or cheese bait. Report by Captain Michael Peterson, 4 Reel Fun Guide Service.

LAKE PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 50 degrees; 12.77 feet below pool. Few anglers and reports after the recent cold front.
