USA College Football released its 26th Pre-season All-American Teams on Tuesday (July 15) and Howard Payne University had four players recognized on the lists.
Howard Payne’s Jordan Shaw was a Third Team Pre-season All-American selection as a defensive back and offensive lineman Patrick Dillard, wide receiver Colby Mica and defensive lineman Donald Preston were all Pre-season Honorable Mention All-American selections.
Jordan Shaw was a 2nd Team All-Conference honoree as a defensive back last season. Shaw finished 10th in the ASC in tackles with 78. He had four pass breakups, one interception and two forced fumbles.
Offensive lineman Patrick Dillard was a 2nd Team All-Conference selection for the Jackets starting all 10 games on the line. He was a part of a HPU offensive that allowed a conference low 13 sacks on the year.
Colby Mica caught and was a 2nd Team All-Conference selection last year. Colby led the American Southwest Conference in receptions per game at 7.6 and was third in the conference in receiving yards per game at 79.2 per outing.
Donald Preston recorded 31 tackles on the defensive line for Howard Payne and was honored as a 2nd Team All-Conference selection. Donald finished the season with three sacks, 31 tackles (4.5 for loss), three sacks and a fumble recovery.
