The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of January 3:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water stained; 52-54 degrees; 8.73 feet below pool. Black bass to 11.53 pounds are good on green pumpkin jigs tipped with Hags Baits green pumpkin/blue in 4-12 feet of water on rock piles and points, or chatterbaits around the shoreline in 2-8 feet of water. Crappie are slow around the docks and brush piles on minnows in 10-15 feet of water. White bass are good on crankbaits and small jigs. Catfish are slow at baited holes.
LAKE CISCO
FAIR. Water slightly stained; 60 degrees; 11.57 feet below pool. The weather is cooling off and the winds are picking up. Catfish are biting in 20 feet of water on goldfish or perch. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Water stained; 63-68 degrees; 9.05 feet below pool. Bass are fair with chatterbaits and jigs tipped with a green pumpkin Hags Undertaker Jr. Crappie are fair with minnows suspended in 10-12 feet of water around trees and docks. White and hybrid bass are slow.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
FAIR. Water stained; 55 degrees; 30.30 feet below pool. Crappie and white bass are good on the main lake chasing balls of shad in the deep water using small slab baits, crappie jigs, or live minnows. Blue and channel catfish are on the edge or river and creek channels using live minnows, fresh cut shad or cheese bait. Report by Captain Michael Peterson, 4 Reel Fun Guide Service. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on live bait or jigs. Largemouth are fair. As the lake level drops, be cautious of the trees. Report by Concho Park and Marina.
LAKE PROCTOR
FAIR. Water stained; 60 degrees; 12.81 feet below pool. Bass can be caught slowly working crankbaits. Catfish can be caught drifting stink bait or cut bait. Crappie are hitting minnows and jigs in open water and on brush.
